1 is a good case for removing shields (assuming the little ones are also shields), as is or without the metal boxes this looks low peripheral. But if removing them reveals ICs or other goodies then you have a case for moving into a higher grade.

Wouldn't you want to remove the transformers from 5/6? I normally remove them and toss them in my transformer bucket for my local yards.

Removing the transformers isn't required and often unnecessary for smaller ones. If a board is borderline it can make a difference though. That being said, 6 I see no reason to remove that one. 5 I think is okay also but I could see removing it if you're unsure.

Thanks Marked. I guess I have watched too many Shark videos. I believe he always removes the transformers when he goes over grading/sorting boards.

It does depend a bit on your specific situation too.

If you have local scrap yards that have great prices for different things, you may want to remove certain items simply for that. In Shark's case he probably does enough volume that having a specific set of rules to follow when processing ensures that every board meets a standard without questioning it and, what I assume is a high volume of transformers, likely allows him to get paid more for the large quantity.
