They go green fibre with metal.
Style is used with laptops, apple computers and slimline multi processor servers.

The layout varies by cpu manufacturer (Intel/amd/via/sun) but.one large Ic is the controller chip, one is the cpu. The usually smaller chip is the cache.
Basically it's a variance on the socket to slot (slocket) method in reverse.
The layout looks like a slot 2/3 intel or a amd licensed Slot BIII Sun card. Only with pins instead of an edge connector.
As for the materials. The older cpu cards often have a ceramic cpu (early Pentium m laptops and AMD Atholon laptops) where newer ones like the duron and intel core and atom, the acorn arm is etc use fibre fabrication.
The one with the window is brown fibre.

Don't break down the card, the two large ics will go pinless and the rest will go standard ic chips. Unless you have a massive scale you won't recoup the differences in prices.

As for the IC's actual materials they are trade secrets. However the brown fibre ic will be a proprietary PC/PP/ABS blend with cobalt and manganese for durability and shielding effect.
The "window" on top, the cap, is usually a cobalt glass on intel chips, and a magnesium glass on amd.
I never had a sun card ic scanned so I don't know.
Inside is the core with a gold or nickel bonding wire mesh to the bga points. The bga "balls" are a silver nickel or palladium nickel solder.

Reasons for classification.
The value here is in the pins. Gold fingers have clean gold (slot processors) where pins are gold plated steel, nickel, and/or tin. Often nickel/tin.
The actual card has considerably more "junk" compared to a slot processor in relays, switches etc.
The ceramic monolithic capacitor quantity is lower.
The board is considerably less populated by volume (inside and out)
Finally the board material is of lower grade copper sandwich vs gold sandwich for slot processors.

The whole card as pictured goes as green fibre with metal. Breaking it down is an exercise in losses.
