Soo, I may have jumped the gun a bit on my last post as I had forgotten about the big bin I had stashed away as it was full of multiples of the same few boards; I am hoping once again you fine folks may lend your wisdom and help ID'ing these few boards.

First 3 telco (Remove the batteries! The yellow cylinder and green square)
4 may be large socket, not entirely sure.
5 MAY be telco, again, remove the green colored battery!
6 telco, remove the white battery
7 telco
8 telco, remove the battery
Of course, wait for lodos to come by and make sure I'm right.

4 is large socket
5 is peripheral
6-8 will be telco ONLY as it is pictured: leaving the mounted IC chips in the sockets.

Remove any IC chips from 6-8 and they become small socket motherboards.

If 6-8 actually work you may be better of on the secondary market. Those AMD xx60 CPUs are great for hobyest builders as they are used in everything from spectrum clones to video game systems.
Boards should run around $1-$5 each on ebay; that's what I would pay. ($1-$2). But I've seen them go a bit higher on occasion. So if they work weigh them and do the math.

That goes for any 30 or 60 series AMD/Intel baring board.

Following dissecting my parents ps/2 to their dismay; and rebuilding it with an xt controller in a working state (to their amazement):
I started on my first (non) "computer" when I was 8 or 9 at the very end of the hobby market in the late 80s. Giving away my age there.
Building what was suppose to be a kit missing half the required components. It wasn't pretty but it did post, sort of.

The hobby/build industry 40 years on now from the early 70s start may be on the fringes and out of view but is still very much alive and active as well. Building z77 and FX 90 boards from scratch to put inside gutted microwaves and toasters.
My such comments may not be useful but perusing my posts you'll see some cases here or there where I become stary eyed seeing something.
Anything I directly point to though for reselling may we worth looking into though. We're out there; and we want your components!

Besides do you have any idea how hard it is to find parts for a vic20 or c64?
To paraphrase Heston you can have my Altair and my cx-64 when you pry them from my cold dead hands!

I know it likely sounds a bit hokey, but I truly loved reading your last post, Lost. I find nostalgia to often be the main reason behind why most of us love the things we love and from that love, it is always an amazing feat to turn your passion into a profit. I appreciate the extra insight very much and will indeed look into selling them as is as obviously, we would love to see people matched up with things they have been on the hunt for (we being the small family owned/operated metal recycling company I work for) as it is always much nicer to see things reused as opposed to just scrapped.

Now, if I were going to look into selling these elsewhere as they are working, what else would I need to know? I will not lie, I know VERY BLOODY LITTLE about computers and technology and the like and all that I have learned would simply have been from stripping everything down and figuring out what is what, but with these boards, I obviously know nothing aside from being able to now ID them. I only know they work as we had scrapped them with a HUGE load of electronics from the UBC Bio Med campus and everything that was working or non working was labeled as such.

In reality even ebay isn't the best place for the very old unless the systems are complete

Best shot at finding a needy hobbyist is searching google groups (in google plus), face book, and MySpace which all have dedicated club accounts.
In my experience ebay is a good place for sniping 50lbs of crap for way under value and laughing at the occasional idiot who pays way to much; but the best buyers have wised up over the years with great sites like boardsort et al laying out real everyday prices and scribed hosting papers including my own that have come to tell people what the actual melt value is for escrap.
Some idiot may come along eventually and pay you $20 or $30 for a pentium pro. And then file a claim against you for a non working product when they realize it's only worth a couple of dollars in the real world.


So in short; Google groups
Yahoo 'clubs' whatever they call them these days
MySpace (many many clubs that are dedicated to specific units or processors or brands)
Facebook (like MySpace but more generalized)
Local computer shows. Just google Linux show or computer show with your closest major city or zip code. This is by far the best option followed closely by Craig's list; as in person they can't come back 10 days later and say I didn't know or you lied or whatever. There's always on guys that look like left over early 70s computer hippies with a table of stuff in some dark corner. Don't be misled by the looks of these groups; they eat sleep and breathe technology and run circles around most of us in terms of real experience.

Finally if you can find them the hard drive exchange has moved to tor. They're elitist, self righteous, generally every nasty word you can think of. And will tell you how little you know. And then pay you better than fair for anything that works. My tip for these guys is just admit you don't know and take a great payout. Again; if you can find them ... A team voice over.

Back when the US Computer Shopper was being printed the had a 20 page spread price list in every issue. And always were in Byte ettc. Was at theharddriveexchange.net and .biz before moving off grid to tor. So their one of the originals
