Help with another one, I have about 5 of these boards and they are quit large, the sockets with the exposed gold are 1 3/4 x 1 3/4.

Question is, would it be better to sell the board as it, it cut around the sockets and sell just those and then put board in low grade?

Find a scale and test it out.... Generally does not pay to break down boards unless they are already low grade boards. I would just sell what you got as gold finger.

Thats going to go as a multi socket motherboard. Just the way it is.
Mls is correct, the only way to be sure is to cut it but there's no reason to. You'll need to measure the sockets to see if it's small or large.

crap, i didn't see all the other sockets on that board... I would agree about the multi-socket grade... and i'm pretty sure you will get 'large socket'... most of the time when they see those old boards with the older type sockets (like the 386's) it will still be considered 'large socket'

I have a feeling, as well, that will work out for large multi. Based on the other various cpus You posted and my history with old server equipment I'm guessing that's either a sparc 3 or PowerPC riser.

Thank you you two for your advice it is much appreciated. I am not 100% sure I did not get some of the CPUs from this there were some laying in the boxes so I am guessing they could have came from these boards, they were 486 and the board says 486 as well.

In the case of 486 and earlier the board sockets are considered large socket. In this case large milti.

Yes I see the markings now. Must be from an early DEC or HP unit then. The only two off hand i remember making servers that large using i386/x86 cpus. Hypx says IBM did too but that must be wrong as they had their own in-house cpu line for servers.
Not that any of that matters.
