2 yes (at one point there was a hidden category for this type board, so I try to keep them in a container and eventually I'll send them in and see what happens)
3 the metal should be able to come off, need to bend certain parts that are holding the board, pull the wire and then it's at least midgrade but might be able to slide into low peripheral.

thanks, maybe I'll hang onto the modem card as well and one day possibly have a can of them!

Those modem cards pile up surprisingly fast, then suddenly the can is full :)
