Hello!

I have several of these boards and have cleaned them up as much as possible. I can't find any posts about Zettler chips to see if they should be removed or left on. I'm thinking these might be high telecom (or just peripheral because of all the metal pins)? The small boards have gold on the PCB connections. FYI, these are from Superterm Continental Security systems.

Thanks!

The Zettler "chips" are actually small relays. You can goggle components to help in identification.
I am saying both boards are High Peripheral.
Since I am grading at High Peripheral. The relays are not a problem.
Here is my basic reasoning.
The large board does not have those nice gold pin connectors typical of Telecom grade.
The smaller board doesn't have quite enough chip density.
Here is an interesting option. Because of chips in sockets. You can remove those chips and still maintain the High Peripheral Grade. Then you can submit the pulled chips under the IC category. That is something I personally do not do. But. Some forum members do pull socketed chips.(ICs).
Hopefully. A forum member whom does that will post and explain the advantage they see in doing that procedure.
Here to learn like everybody else.
My evaluation are my own opinion.

The number of chips certainly lends both to being a Telco grade. The larger board doesn't look like it actually has much gold while the smaller does have some as flashing at least. Both are low profile which is a plus for high Telco.

The relays... I'm not sure if they're enough to drag the board into low Telco territory but I doubt they'd drop to peripheral in this case.

Well. Marked141. I need to review all videos again.
I am evaluating off based.
I have been away from the site for some months.
Better review.

I have barely reviewed the videos. I'm going off experience. If you ever see something in the videos that contradicts me, feel free to point me to them.

Thanks! That does help with these "grey area" boards. As soon as I think I'm getting a handle on identifying, a new board comes in that befuddles me (not hard to do honestly...).
