So I thought to myself, what if I took some of this heavy stuff off...would it be worth more....

So, had I left everything as is, my assumption is it would have graded at Mid-Grade which is something like $0.60/lb.

After, I feel like it would grade as maybe Peripheral Low Grade which is $3.00/lb.

Second image is after depopulation and the red callouts are just bringing your attention to where something used to be.

I am all ears and here to learn so let me have it!

The aluminum heatsinks are the main things to remove to avoid midgrade in this case. This is not just because it's a lower value material but also because it obscures what's under it. Just doing that gets it to low peripheral easy in my opinion. Further upgrade will depend on what exactly is there and what you remove. There are multiple ports that could have gold pins and there is ferrous material in the transformers/torroids.

My guess the two large transformers and the small cable box being off are probably enough to be looking at high peripheral, especially if there are gold pins.

Yeah, after I posted the images, I realized I had left those two transformers on there and went ahead and took those off. For the most part, I think we are on the same page. Only thing different was that I took off the copper windings being that the majority of the weight there is steel. We are driving through Alliance mid-July so I will be able to get a firsthand response on all of my depopulations and whatnot.
