Thanks for your replies to various threads I create within these forums & also to all of the other threads too. Sometimes, I wonder if your both just real-life AI Google Search Bots or if you both really do just know this much stuff about all the topics you respond to posts on! Either way, it's incredible the amount of knowledge the both of you, and a bunch of others too, have within this site's community. Thank you for passing along your knowledge to others as I'm sure that just to respond to all of the different topics day to day is a fulltime job by itself.

But in all seriousness, I worked part time for most my life and scrapping was my second job, Combine that with my part time job being in IT and my main hobbies for the longest time being black smithing, casting and building older PCs so I gained a lot of knowledge on this kind of stuff. I also have ebay/paypal to thank for unjustifiably banning me on their platforms so I more or less have no ware to sell my used PC parts form building PCs, I used to build a retro gaming PC every few weeks and with nowhere to sell the parts I turned to scrapping. eBay has now banned me from buying too so I was more or less forced out of that hobby as I don't know anywhere to buy/sell old PC parts without having to use paypal. add all that to a lot of down time at work and well... got to do something with all that free time. I should be tanking you guys for giving my something to do at work when there is nothing more to do.

I would add marked and cat whisker to the kudos list. I have learned so much from this forum and as a side hustle, it has put a lot of extra money in my pocket. This forum and boardsort are awesome.

Theres a large number of people who deserve more recognition than I do but thanks.

I found a scrap yard with a ~30 gallon barrel full of RAM and CPUs once and was able to buy them. The profit from sending to Boardsort was used shortly after to buy a new engine in my car when it died. Would have been nice to spend it on something else but sure glad I had the extra money when I did.

Always talk to your local scrap yards ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If they don't (or even if they do) buy escrap, talk to them about it. Maybe you get to buy from them.
