The boards from 2.5" external HDD that have usb/firewire connectors on them and not IDE/SATA/scsi, can they be send in as low grade hard drive boards ?

Gonna depend on the board, low or high peripheral likely for most.

(I realize two of those are for 3.5" drives)

An adaptor that is xtype-SATA is usually high peripheral if it has its own controller chips.
If not its connector end

The hard drive board is low grad hard drive

There's no boards directly off a hard drive in that image, their all from external enclosures I took apart and use occasionally still.

But if one of those boards has everything to qualify as a hdd board then I guess that helps answer Austin's question.

no not the adapters that plug into the hdd. some external hard drives have a board on the hdd with usb/firewire and not sata/ide

Never seen that before. Probably low grade (or worse if the lack of substantial gold pins makes a difference)

I seen them on a lot of newer 2.5' external mechanical hard drivers, I was thinking the same thing about the lesser number of gold pins.
