I stripped what looked like a conventional fluorescent light fixture, but no bulbs. Just two led strips with multiple little square diodes. the back of the fiber strip had a bright copper strip. I clipped and peeled it off, but practically no weight. Would probably take 200 to make an ounce of copper. Any reason to pull any of those strips?

Copper tape? I tend to pull it off (cause it's usually holding two different things when I find it) for #2 copper.

Im going with no.... but here's why:

Assuming it IS copper, and Assuming you were wrong and it takes 200 of these things to make a pound, instead of an ounce, AND Assuming #2 copper is $5/lb....

You just made $5 by peeling that itty bitty tape off of 200 lights.

AND Assuming you can go from original light to completed peeled copper in 15 seconds, you can probably get that pile knocked out in an hour, for... $5/hour.

It's not economically viable.

The fixtures I have found like that are generally steel, and go straight to the shred.

These are overpriced in U.S. stores.
They cost about $0.50 with a 50% markup on cost of production.

I just paid $5 us for 200 for one of our homes in the Philippines and $10 for 500 to do a 4 floor home In Dubai.

The strips are low peripheral.
