 Post subject: IC chip ?

Hello,

Are these actually IC chips? Should I keep them with my other IC chips?

I Googled them and it said they are TAB ICs.

From what I understand, Boardsort does not want these. I leave them attached to the lcd panels.

I heard from a FB group that somebody did make the claim that they have gold bond wires in them. However It's not something I personally deal with. I throw away bucket loads of these all the time.

There "might" be something to these but that would be above my knowledge. Not to mention the hazard they pose from the glass...

These are COF's or sometimes on FFC(IC). COF meaning Chip on Film.
Those ribbons connect the converter board from the Tcon boards to send the info back n fourth. Pixels n what not.
That , die, is an IC chip. You can either leave them on the board or collect them to put in IC. I would assume you have to remove the die from the COF.

There are no glass attached to these if you remove them from the board carefully. They usually pull up very easily or are stuck with a light glue/sticky tack substance.

If there is visible gold it can go as connector end. If not visible, midgrade.
