I have some laptops to scrap that contain the i-series processors. When I removed the motherboards, the processors were part of the board. How does Boardsort purchase these types of CPU chips? As well, the chips do not show the i-series generation stamp on them. However, the laptop casing clearly indicates that it contains an i-series processor.

Generally yes. But the cpu would then qualify separately.
Removing a soldered cpu ruins the class of both.
