First time coming across "cooled" RAM. I know generally its not worth the time to remove shields from shielded RAM, but this seems like an excessive amount of extra weight and might not be fair to keep as-is. Should I remove the shield/cooling thing and sell as regular RAM?

Hi.

If time is abundant and you want more return, than yes. I use a heating surface to heat the glue that holds the radiator shields. If still holds tight I apply 130-150 Celsius degrees heat airgun.
Here, in Ukraine we have grades for bga IC, so most of fully populated RAM goes to complete scrapping. Price for RAM scrap is about 1.5-2 times less than in EU/US, so it worth sorting and depopulating in my region.

Regards,
