Recently I came across a few of these at an estate sale and bought them, not really understanding what they were. Was able to find some info online, i.e. one of them is the "CPU board" from a Donkey Kong Jr., dated 1982. Others are labeled Williams Electronics which I believe are from pinball machines. They seem well-populated. Wondering if anyone else has come across these, and if so did you sell them to Boardsort or do something else with them? I can post pics if anyone is interested. Thanks in advance.

Here are some pics. Three panels in all, but the Nintendo panel has a board on each side. Hopefully the filenames will help. For scale, the Nintendo boards are 15 in x 20 in.

You’re looking at the wrong idea in scrapping these. Those boards fetch good money to collectors!

Shoot me an email. This is the stuff I deal with regularly. Minicomputers , mainframes, arcade and amusement etc.

I can test and do commission sales as well.

Thank you "Lost". I agree, that is why my original question: "Wondering if anyone else has come across these, and if so did you sell them to Boardsort or do something else with them?". I will keep you in mind for a resource in the future. What I did: I looked up arcade repair companies in my area and sent out a couple of emails. It has been a process, but I think I might have a local buyer. If it falls through I will email you, though I'm concerned about shipping costs due to dimensions and weight...

Nintendo manufactured DKJr full set of boards all 3 should fetch around 600
The joystick panel and mini controller board are the most expensive for that unit and alone can do another 3-5

The primary control boards are usually 200 to 250

Hello Lorenz.
Looks like you have some Williams video boards.
Could be one of the games. Joust, Robotron, Sinister, Stargate, Defender. Or others.
Look on the white stickers on the integrated circuits.
The actual name of the game should be labeled on it.
We called them Personally Chips in my day.
Just change the ROM out. And you got a new game.
That made interchangability of MPU boards easy.
You have the ROM boards also.
Boards like that from back then need Updates. Revisions. Also
Part replacements. Those boards are selling online.
You can sell as is and probably do better than scrap price.
I was an arcade mechanic in the 80's. It was one fun time back then. Arcades were packed with kids.
Like I said. Try and get the name of the game from those chips. That will really help you get direction on what to do.
Good luck.

The board is too big to be early on the WE unit. Though zero padding was and is common for the later years boards to still run the old Roms. But anyone who was running that unit rather than get stuck with it or inherited it etc… if it was worth while and/or it wouldn’t be in scrap

Sadly unless it’s a fluke with an early set of roms included in a later board it’s unlikely that one is going to get much.

I regularly see joust, Ballon Defender, the key titles, full set of Roms for under $100.
The only arcade stuff from WE/WIE that’s worth most people dealing with is the LaserDisc stuff. Not saying Lorenz shouldn’t look into it. That is a FULL set late model board setup.

Would LOVE to know what game but 9/10 the rom labels are too faded to read. (Why I offered OP to take a look, run diagnostics, boot it up)

That DKJr set … if I had permission from Chris I’d make an offer flat out. I have an original cabinet and the joysticks. And even the coin receiver But that’s money in hand for op. That’s real bank.
