Hello All,
We decided to start scrapping and I have not done this before and I am not a technician, just tasked with scrapping. I have spent some time in the forum and stripping machines. Most of our scrap comes from iMacs and other Apple computers. I have tried to group our bulk items together and then have some random boards. I need to transfer to final shipping boxes, etc but wanted some feedback if I have sorted at an acceptable level.
I'm not sure how to grade all the smaller boards and the random larger boards.
I have bundled the bulk of my MLBs with zip ties in bundles of 3 or 4.
I think I've done an OK job, but I have never done this before...

Thanks in advance

Spencer

In order to get the best price you'll want to ensure material is sorted correctly. Be sure to look through the pics and videos on the price list to help. This topic is pretty helpful as well viewtopic.php?f=3&t=21765

At a glance, your wifi modules with gold fingers are their own category, don't mix in anything else with them.

CPUs, if they're I series check the test and buy list to see if you can sell any of them there.

Looks like your hard drive boards may have an ide type connectors which would be high grade instead of low.

Motherboards need to be sorted basically by socket type (see the price list)

The long boards from monitors are likely mostly high peripheral but I see at least one board that looks like it'll be less than that.

The misc boards are likely low and high peripheral but without seeing each board that's just a guess

Those long boards can be broken in half or smaller to help in shipping. Just keep everything together. I have been getting High Peripheral for those. Just thought to throw that tip in. Mark141 is way ahead of the game in escrap than me. Much much more experience. But. Thought I would get a meow in or two. You do got some sorting to do if you want best price. Also. For me. I do not allow any loose PCB's in the boxes I send in. Because of possible (most likely) rough handling by the carrier. Note. A PCB can cut right through a cardboard box. So I take an additional caution. Using packing tape to reinforce the box. By taping the outside of the box. Oh. Tape before packing your boards in. Prevents bulging the box. I pack as tight as posible. You mentioned your just getting started. Definately read the post on the Front Page. From lostinlodos. (He's not lost in escrap). Title: READ THIS BEFORE SHIPPING US ANYTHING!!!
Here to learn like everybody else.
