Oscar grades this as low grade telecom... i know the battery has to be removed but can i remove the steel jacks to upgrade the board to high grade telecom... I have 6,000 indentical units of this board and dont want to remove all that steel if it doesnt upgrade the board... they are 1.6 pounds each...

First of all. My opinion. To answer your question. NO! But. One caveat through this post.
That PCB has 3 gold tab surface mount integrated circuits. ( come back to that later)
Please go back and review the videos on Low and High Telecom boards. You will find
2 things lacking in that pictured PCB.
What??? One. No gold pin edge connector.
Two. No low profile on your pictured board. Note. Better pictures. Better opinions.
Again. Review those videos.
So. Remove the shielding. I personally would break off those RF convertor boards.
Any toroids. Any relays (K1). Leave the jacks.
Do an OSCAR photo. I predict. High Peripheral. The Gold Tabs may make a difference.
But. But. But. Ask Boardsort.. Those gold tab surface mount chips. May change the grade.
Ok. Again. If you send them in as low telecom. . As opposed to High peripheral. Without consulting Boardsort. You will get most likely in my opinion. High Peripheral. My opinion based totally on the escrap pictures and videos.

There's one hiding in the shadow, so 4. If you have 6,000 of these and they are 1.6 lbs each, the difference between high and low telcom is a lot. Depending on your location that might be worth the drive to drop them off in person!

Thank you for the help... I realized I made a typo... my question is focused on if I can upgrade the material and make more... I agree that the board currently is high grade peripheral... and yes there is a forth hidden gold tab bga under the media card bracket (i have 6,000 media cards also) and just fyi over half of those 4 chips (or 24,000 total) dont have the copper top... what i ment to ask is if I could get it upgraded to low grade telecom if I removed enough of the junk... im just trying to maximize my work... to remove the 6,000 boards (and 6,000 hdd and 6,000 low grade power boards) took me almost 410 hours (15 per hour)... if i could upgrade the board with a little more work and increase the price from "currently" $4.20 to $5.65 i would happily do it...

As Catwisker said, send and email to Chris at Boardsort and ask. Reference this post or send pictures. They might be high grade telcom without removing anything. If you have ~9,000 lbs of these I'm sure they will give you as much as possible.

Thank you all for the fast reply and helpful suggestions... it is great to be welcome... I think my next step should be an email to chris... i was hoping the 4 gold tab bga were enough to make the boards upgradable... I have several thousand routers im currently taking apart that i could use some help valuing as well... only about 10 different variations so hundreds of each kind... I have 6 IBC containers perfectly filled full just from the 6k indentical power boards... I also have 2 trash truck trash bins full of finger cards and mother boards... those are straight forward to grade... my dump trailer can only carry 9,600 pounds at a time so im looking at two trips to Ohio from texas... about 11 hours...

Now you have a logistics consideration.
You are going to drive with your haul to Boardsort. On your own.
Ok. Cool. My opinion.
The old adage. T = M.
TIME EQUALS MONEY.
You want input on your decision?
Go to the posts On the Boardsort com wedsite.
The Business Side.
You may get a carrier for less than your overalll effort.
My example. Got a rare obsure engine delivered directly for $500..

You may be able to send a carrier. Get your boards delivered.

Surprised lost hasn’t weighed in. These weights and quantities seem above the scope of the average poster on the forum. I can say for sure you need to contact chris because he has fussed at me for sending 300 pounds of high telco without letting him see pictures first. Also he may offer some alternatives that help you and him.

As far as the getting it there goes, if you make 2 trips with 9600 lbs each on 6-8 pallets, that’s 19,200 lbs on 12-16 pallets. 28 foot “pups” used in ltl trucking carry 14-16 pallets at about 22,500lbs max, so you basically have a trailer full. Sometimes you can get really good rates on a trailer full through old dominion, Estes or someone like them. Also, I have used Gorven who has been recomended on here and have been very pleased with his rates. Here is his email gorven@comcast.net.

Again, you definitely need to contact chris with this.

Lost doesn't come in this thread very often anymore D:

You are supposed to remove shields whenever you can and generally I would still place this in high peripheral myself but if you get input from Boardsort that it's got enough stuff to upgrade definitely let us know.

I've used gorven, very helpful and communicates well. I had a double stacked pallet get separated from the bottom pallet and gorven got with the shipping company to find it and get it delivered. And it was the high priced materials!
