I dont know what it is, but it seems a very specialized one... do you know where it came from?

My best guess is that is something to put up on ebay as a collector item.

I believe it came out of an old mainframe, but I can't be certain.

That would make sense... Those kind of special chips often have higher gold and PGM content than usual... but usually collector value is higher. You can send Chris an email and see what he says, or try going the Ebay route. Those would be my suggestions.

Agree. Looks like a sparc or mc3 with the cap/spreader removed.
