Howdy, can anyone tell me if there's anything special to these boards and wires with what I think is graphite wrapped around them?

Is it indeed graphite, and what's it for?

Would boardsort want these items as-is, or would they be better with the graphite(?) removed?

Any insight would be appreciated, thanks.

Those are Ferrite bead noise suppressors. I've never seen one attached to a board.

Assuming the cable ends have gold plated pins you could cuts the ends off the wire for gold plated connector ends, slide the ferrite off for steel and throw the wire in your insulated wire pile.
