So other than the bracket, do I need to remove the big copper windings? Like do they consider them heat sinks or similar?

You need to post the back side as well.
They’re not gold finger cards.
Remove the brackets and they go as peripheral.
Removing anything lowers the weight on peripheral.

Post the back sides; if there’s a good IC population there MAY be an opportunity for low telco.

In the lower less populated board could you post a better picture of the metal "loaf of bread" near the middle of the board? It looks like a mercury relay to me.

So these don't always count as gold fingers? There's nothing on the back for components, buy there's gold on both sides of the fingers. Does cutting them off degrade it aswell?

The big silver thing is definitely a relay but mercury im not sure. I've found a few on somenof these old telecom boards but mostly theyve been labelled as mercury. But, is it. Mercury switch?

Not actually sure if it is or not, but the package looked like one so I would assume it is.
Yes, those are gold fingers, there are some exceptions, like the "fingers" on the LCD panel boards.
I will let lost correct me if I am wrong, On either thing.

I don’t deny the gold fingers.
However simply having gold fingers doesn’t automatically make a gold finger card in all cases.
Much like socket terminators, slot cpu terminators.

Remove the brackets. And any tray under the card.

You will probably get peripheral. Which is actually better than the lowest gold finger class. At worst it will be downgraded to low grade gold finger card.

As for the relay:
Despite the package design for the relay; I have 18 references to the part number in may database and non have it listed as mercury.
While I normally demand better safe than sorry I can find nothing for the posted part number to suggest it is anything other than a dry relay that used/reused the old aluminium case package post mercury phase-out.
