 Post subject: Finger are or better?

I pulled this from a server and I know it is at least gold finger, but checking to see if it could be in a higher class.

Dell and HP both use non-standard designs. Especially from the first decade of the 2ks.
They’ve gotten better at documenting their changes and proprietary implementations but they are still something that makes most techs cringe.

they are instantly recognisable to people with experience. There’s only so many ways to “cost-reduce” components; and those two are the most common culprits.

In this case you have an I/O controller, a SATA implementation, and a primary processor all on the same board: with shared memory. After the cost of design, they probably shaved $100 (at the time) off the price of the component.

Yes I’m aware that that is not a primary system cpu. Believe they used era 286 chips for these. (I don’t remember and can’t read the cpu cap).
LSI made some interesting stuff at that time for vendors.
