from the Boardsort perspective:
the solid one will go as gold pin connector. THe broken one you're better off pulling out whatever pins are in there and putting them in a small container. And sending them along with any order you send in. Boardsort buys pins but they're not listed on the quote form because there's no way to quote them without testing/scanning them on reception.
just email Chris your order number and let him know you included pins in your order.
And make sure you use something somewhat stable to hold them, like a pill bottle, not a glass jar or baggies. Neither of the latter tend to make it to the dock in one piece.

thanks, local yard was an 2 cents a pound. for the whole ribbon, 5 cents without ends.

Do the pins need to be sorted, I end up with several different busted up connectors. also what kind of weight do they want with pins I am assuming they want ounces or better not grams.

Generally if you have enough to do so sorting them is wise
And yes they want an ounce or two at minimum.
