Hi,

So this cpu is fused to the heat sink. My attempts to pry off just managed to crack it. Would boiling help? In the current state the weight is 2.3oz.

Ultra thin ceramic package. Pain in the
Normally these are black grey or blue ceramic and do not have a gold spreader.
So removing the sink isn't all that important and I'd just toss it in AMD aluminium top
but I'm confused a bit since this is WHITE and white ceramics are usually early intel or Russian and have gold spreaders
I use a heat gun myself but Chris has suggested boiling to others. Both methods work.
Make sure after, when you pry them loose you use a VERY thin tool, a spudger or a size 0 or 1 screwdriver. If there's a gold cap you don't want it stuck on the sink rather than the cpu so be gentle.

So I had to get the heat sink off to see what was there, and managed to break it into pieces.

What do ya know.
No gold cap.
Lol

Just keep the pieces together in a small baggie and it's pentium Mac ceramic.
