I have tried to post links concerning subjects in my responses to other posts. As an example. The question already has been answered and explained in previous posts. Where am I messing up?
I can see many individuals will post a link in thier responses(shows up as blue highlight). I use an Android phone. So. My question. What are the key strokes and swipes and drags and finger pinches. To get a prior post. And then post the link in my response to a question?

It's bbcode and there's a link under options to see how to do that anytime you're making a post.

I usually copy/paste the link from the url directly to the message body.

If I want to be fancy I'll highlight the word(s) that are indicating I'm referring to another post, tap on the url option above the message body (where the forum automatically adds the formatting around the highlighted word), then in the first [url] bit, add an = after url and then paste the copied url.

Look something like [url=http://www.website.here]

You can make things bold and colorful and such as well.

Mark141. Ok. I did some attempts. Seems to be working. I entered. Then edited. And edited. And edited. I got positive results. Exactly like your link to bbcode explained. But. Right now. The only way I can access is through your post.

Ok. It's working. Mark141. Going to take some time to learn this. But again. I do not see a link on my Boardsort page. Connecting me directly to bbcode. I went through your posted link everytime. But. wonderful. Whoa. I am thrilled. Yep. A kid with a new toy.

It’s a subset of bbcode. As well as PHC. So not all of it will work

Other than the quick links above the text box, you can play around with it. Some works some doesn’t.

Now. I understand. I thought that bbcode was a unique function of the Boardsort forum website. Never was computer savy. A mechanic doesn't have to be a Racecar driver to fix the car. Glad I asked my question. Thanks for your responses.

BBCode came out in the late 90s. It combined and formalised the three largest sets of markup scripting from the time. Apple, Atari, and Commodore markups.

Hard dotting • is also supported. So is code shifting utf. ẞ
What’s really kool here with PHP is entering code for utf supported characters removes the code and just inserts the character instead !

The term comes from bulletin board services. Computers you called on the telephone from your own computer or smart terminal.
I ran one from the late 80s until the fire 2 years ago. The line finally went down permanently last August.
