If the oil wells all ran dry or became much more expensive to extract/refine then plastic recycling (in whatever form) might reach a point where it's viable from a business standpoint. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I can't speak to all plastics but I can speak to "plastoline"... It will never be viable because the math doesn't work. It takes more energy input than you can get as output. It's a net negative no matter how you break it down.... but it looks great on insta I guess
