This has probably been asked before, but let's say I have a nice HGT board, worth $12/lb or whatever it is. Here is a picture I pulled from ebay below. So the jist of what boardsort says is separating the gold fingers and selling them for $85/lb is a waste because you could get more for the board intact with weight etc. This is true for dealing with 1 buyer depending on shipping costs. So let's say I want to cut off the fingers to sell on ebay or process myself. As far as I can tell, the same board with all the packed ICs are classed as trimmed board, $3/lb, but a card with less good stuff and no fingers to begin with can be HGP at $6/lb. It doesn't seem to make sense, unless I'm just reading it wrong. I guess my question is why would a high grade telco boards with no fingers be worth less than a peripheral board that never had fingers to begin with?
