A picture will only help so much.
Here's the non official method I use
It must be mITX or smaller
It must be gold flashed on both sides
It must be a gold layer sandwich card (silver sandwich will still go telco eg b&h, HP, Dell)
It must be 75% or more IC population on both sides.
It must have a solid gold finger or gold socket
It can have a steel skeleton but must not have have ANY shields

Examples are wifi and cards from IBM, Cisco, Apple
3/g and 4g cards from Samsung, Apple, Motorola, Nokia
Hand-held medical interface equipment such as remotes or monitors
EEPROM/ROM programming boards
Pager boards from old pagers.
Most digital watch boards

It's better than telco but not cell class
