I pulled this out of a server and it was plugged into the motherboard. Would this be a gold fingered card or is it too sparsely populated?

What's mounted at the top? Female ends for gold finger connectors? I'm thinking backplane.

Remove the two screws, probably a thin nut on the back.

Nothing on the other side but 3 tiny IC chips. The screws were mounting it to the server tower.

Picture of the back?

The screws should be removed.

It’s very lightly populated

The connectors at the top were what I was getting at in my first reply. This board appears to be an extension to allow another board to be plugged in to whatever this board was on but for whatever reason couldn't be connected directly. I'm still thinking backplane.

It does look like I was wrong on the style of those screws and they're pressed in not screwed. You still need to remove them. Using a pair of pliers to grab either side of the screw, then applying force side to side along an axis perpendicular to the face of the board should allow it to pull out fairly easy.
