I found this inside some sort of electronic that I took apart, can't for the life of me remember what it was now...maybe a monitor.

Is this gold, and how does it get classified if I were to scrap it? (yes, I know it's light as a feather!!)

If you trim the wire off it you can toss that piece with your mixed wire. Now the the gold connector for what i read years ago, can go for clean gold finger. Hopefully someone who has asked boardsort recently when bringing stuff to the site can advise if that is the case.
