That’s actually very incorrect. Most of the women on my mother’s side have collected this brand back to the early years.

Their sterling silver is marked as 925 always
Their plate is clearly marked as plate

If it says silver or is missing the silver or the above marks, it’s coin silver. The alloy varies by set buts it’s between 45 and 60 percent silver.
