Hi everyone happy sunday. I'm brand new to board sort. I've watched a bunch of videos and I've consulted AI but I still don't have the confidence it takes to properly categorize everything that I have on hand. Can I just shoot pictures to you guys and you'll tell me what to do with it and I will do it. And also if you could let me know when I can process further to upgrade to a higher paying category??

I know it's a lot to ask but I'm just that new and I think everything will click a lot faster in my head if I just start doing it. So here are my first five.

(Hanging head in shame...)

I'll go look for the 2x4 stretcher!!

Everyone starts somewhere! If you've never done any scrapping it can feel overwhelming but if this is something you're interested in the best thing you can do is dive in. Read through the forum, a good topic to look at is here and be sure to check the pinned topics in each section.

Be sure to take good, well lit pictures that don't have too much glare. If you have to take pictures one board at a time that's fine. Using the numbers in the pictures is a great way to keep things organized on here!

1, looks like some kind of gold finger card, from the angle I'm not sure if anything would prevent it from clean gfc category
2, is also a gold finger card but has a heatsink and bracket, which can be removed for the better paying category
3, also appears to be gold finger card but again the picture isn't great
4, likely a high peripheral board but the large aluminum heatsink needs to be removed
5, low grade, if you have the time and want to remove anything to scrap locally that's the board to do it to

Welcome to the forum
The forum here IS to help members to evaluate boards and help in cleaning up boards to get better grades. It is NOT too much for you to ASK. My first suggestion to you posting boards is to use good lighting. Your first post is a little dark. That is. At least for me. Also. Always use the best focus on the board possible. It helps for any forum member to zoom in on a particular component and see if it is "toxic". As an example the glass fuse on your PCB #5. Glass fuses must be removed before submission to Boardsort. The fuse comment. I am using as a basic example.
Hang down your head Tom Dooley. Oh!!! Let me stop there. It's tough to learn. Even with all the videos out there. My suggestion to your learning. STAY FOCUSED ON WHO YOU ARE SELLING TO. The neurons in your brain will reprogram to accept your new learning experience. New pathways. OH!!! I will stop there also. But. You got to put in the time. Yes. More time. Yes. "Beat you brains out to learn." Enough said. Your selling to boardsort. Thus-------》》》》》》》》》
My evaluation on your post.
#1 Gold Finger Card
#2 Unclean Gold Finger Card with Oversize Heatsink or Fan.
#3 Can't evaluate. Need component picture of the board.
,#4 That's Midgrade. BUT. BUT. BUT. Remove the small aluminum heatsink. Then see if you can remove the large black object in the middle of the board. I believe it also is a heatsink. If your sucessful. You could very well be heading to High Peripheral on #4.
#5 Midgrade. But You must remove the glass fuse.
So. Here you are. You can can do some cleaning of junk from #2. You will get a better grade.
A better picture of #3. Component side pictures shows the value components. Not the underside. Then a confident evaluation.
#2 You can remove the heatsink. Take all junk off. Yes. Find out what junk is.
I am relatively new at evaluations. Putting a board in a category.
I see Marked141. Posted. He is someone way beyond my experience in evaluations.
But. On this forum we can all give an opinion.
Just don't thrown in the towel. On your escrapping. Your deligence to learn will make a fine reduced sauce.
Here to learn like everybody else.
My evaluations are my own opinion

Definitely been where you are. Just dive in it is fun and Boardsort is understanding as long as you seem to be trying.
I agree completely with Marked except:
On #4 you will also have to remove the RCA jacks to get it to high peripheral, unless there is a gold tab BGA on the board. Straight from Chris regarding a downgrade (my first) RCA, colored a/v and coax jacks on a peripheral board knock it to low peripheral unless it has a gold tab BGA.
