All capacitors on these, if they have a µF printed somewhere on them it's a capacitor

Exactly. All are aluminium canister capacitors.

Canister batteries like the yellow ones I've posted will always say x amp at y volts. (And they usually say battery too!) ;)

Evil has it right.
It's not necessarily Dallas but any thing that looks like that and says clock, real time/tyme rtc, ssc, vol/amp or other very similar acronyms should be pulled. They have a bettery inside.
The general rule is if you are not sure About a box that looks like that... when in doubt
pull it!

Batteries go boom in the refining process. Safety starts with us removing them before they enter the refining stream in the first place.

some of those old canister capacitors can be silver/tantalum and are rather valuable. some of them will be just tantalum capacitors but still more than just aluminum. (~$60/lb for Ag/Ta, ~$20-40/lb for Ta depending on type)

If you can crush them easily with a pair of pliers or wire cutters, they are aluminum capacitors. If they do not crush, they would be tantalum caps.
you would have to do some research as to how to tell the silver/tant. apart from the plain tant. capacitors.

if you are a member of the goldrefiningfourm, they have a really good thread about tantalum caps:
tantalum + silver
