I dont want to be bothered bagging and sorting multiple items in a box. Especially if I only got 1 of this and 1 of that. Its too difficult to grade. Dont you have just a sorting fee for the stuff? I don't care if I got to pay for you to sort it and not me.

Just stack boards of the same grade until you have enough of one type for a box. You aren't making much money if any if you hodge-podge it.

If you box up a mix of items, expect to be paid for the lowest grade material; that's essentially the "fee" for e-soup.

Ozzy214.
Have you tried O.S.C.A.R.? Or Google Lense. They can help you decided the category.

I would argue that downgrading everything because of an 'e-soup' situation is far too harsh a penalty; discourages smaller scrappers from sending in scrap that they just can't identify; and boardsort's employees, who I have no doubt can tell what's what from a visual inspection taking seconds per component, could eliminate 90% of all of these questions of identification here if only there was some kind of reasonable 'sorting fee'.

I'd also add that a lot of questions are posed here that do not get clear answers, if they get answered at all. The addition of videos was nice, but what would be even more helpful would be a nice, LARGE gallery of photos instead of what presently pops up when you click on a component type.

Note: I have not tried oscar yet. Don't know if it's working or not, but I've got a few boards I've got questions about and if that can give me a clear answer, I'll leave this frustrating chat board to the dinosaurs.

Pretty much everyone here on the forum are customers or just people with a passion for electronics, we are not Boardsort but we help each other out as much as possible.

I linked to Boardsort's policy on e-soup; frankly most scrap yards have a similar policy. If you aren't willing to do the work then they have to pay their employees to do it. Giving a high payout to a customer who doesn't sort and then having to pay their employees will quickly affect the bottom line and what they can afford to pay customers and employees. Which is why the forum exists, so that we can help each other out.
