1. Does the metal need to be removed?

2. I know that battery comes off, but does the holder need removed as well?

3. Heat is removed i know, what about the light blue switch with 5 numbers an the copper next to it?

4. Is it okay to trim gold fingers from this board? Would it still be considered a motherboard?

Generally, if it's soldered to the mobo don't remove it; RAM, expansion cards, CPU battery, heatsinks should be removed.

1) Metal sockets will still be metal sockets even if you remove the metal. At least that's my understanding.

2) Just the battery needs to come off, the battery socket would be worth less on it's own if I had to guess.

3) Not sure exactly what you're asking but none of that should be removed.

4) Not all mobos have them so you should be okay to remove; not sure if there's any cost benefit to doing so. Do remove the plastic (black and green) holddown for the CPU heatsink.

Thank you very much for the reply. The information you provided will be very helpful. I appreciate it. The one on which you said you weren't sure what I was asking. A couple words had been left out my apologies. Still answered with the infoi was hoping for though.
