I don’t mind grading.
Generally I start at peripheral and go from there. No ICs? Probably a lower class unless it’s a backplane. To hop into low telco you need something special. Could be a dozen or so soldered ram chips. Extensive controller population. A ram riser, 12 or more gold pin ram sockets. High telco is a very difficult class to fall into. Only a few specific boards fall there. Most are: Very old telecom equipment. Mid:late 80s and earlier. Aerospace and defence equipment High end gold finger cards (Titan, FX, SSDs) Memory boards
Learning is just a matter of practice. It took me years to get most of the Boardsort classes nearly correct on sight and I still ask Chris on occasion.
