There are a lot of places that have a designation of AU trace boards at around $5.00 per pound. What does Boardsort classify that as?

two things here. Trace and flashing are two different things. What's pictured is a flashed board. Of fairly minimal value. Peripheral (nearly all track pads will be peripheral). Gold trace boards, aka gold etch boards, have thick gold traces (replacing wire, as with any traces).
Flashing is used to either block (absorb) signals, or as a ground out addition. (and to make things look nice and fancy when used on viewable boards like motherboards and sound cards).
tracing is used to replace wire; specifically to carry electric signals. And by that, requires a considerably higher quality of gold alloy and more of it p/uM of coverage.
Most heavy trace boards will also have flashing and most of them will get telco rate, some even better than that. Alas a flashed board such as a track pad will nearly always go as peripheral.

Ok, so I know that boards in flat panel monitors are AU trace. How would Boardsort classify them. What about a board like this?

If that’s the same board in both pics I’d go telco here.
