I have about 2,000 house temperature control units, i call them thermostats. they are plastic, a tiny lcd type screen and three boards, there is almost no weight in the plastic. My question is would it be better to take them all apart in my spare time or is there a catagory where i can sell them whole and intact.
thanks! below is pictures of the 3 boards and the plastic

Peripheral. Just cut the wires off.

The the plastic and screens both have value of just not to boardsort. Call a few local steelyards and see if any of them purchase plastic.
Most thermo control units take about 15 to 30 seconds to strip once you get a rhythm going. Paragraph
They are definitely worth dissecting in quantity. There are also buyers for the screens online as long as they are not broken. If you cannot find one you like online or locally recycle them at a local electronic store. Just put them in the cell phone bin. Paragraph
Don't try to dissect screens yourself. All non tube screens contain either mercury or boron ellipsis or both. Very dangerous to play with.

As for selling whole... i wouldn't expect more than cbm#2 rate. if you bring one stripped like you did they may bump you to cbm! Or even gold heavy.
Peripheral is well over a $1 from chris... abs plastic runs 10-20c. flat wire is 40c-90c depending on yard and base metal.
Screens run 40-60c so worth stripping if you have the time.

If not I'd say dump the lot on eBay under coins- gold-bullion or coins-gold-other for scrap. You'd take a big hit recycling them whole.
