Hello,

Looking to understand what I have and what I would need to remove. Recently did a telecom warehouse clean out and have 100's of boards. Many are duplicates but wanted to start somewhere. Hopefully these are worth something?

Any info is greatly appreciated and if this isn't the correct way to post this, please let me know!

Remove the plastic bracket.
I would submit as Low Telecom. As is.

Not sure what the Artesyn component is it how much weight or value it adds. Could impact the low Telco grade

If you just cut off the board directly to the left of the tantalum capacitors I think you could get high grade telecom for it depending on what that other module is and then just low grade for the other piece with transformers on it

I submitted the board to F.R.E.D.
It came back Low Telecom.
For what it is worth.

Yeah. That Artesyn module could be a problem.
Remove it. Still Low Telecom.
With small side cutters and some ingenuity and work. Peel back the cover.
If you see black resin. Tar like color. Its been sealed from contamination. If not. Could be just a nice cover over a circuit module with IC's etc. Having e-scrap value.
Tough call. On what to do.

On cutting the board. Yes. Maybe.
Step 1 Weigh the complete board with plastic bracket removed. Record weight.
Step 2 Calculate Low Telcom price.
Step 3 Cut board where suggested to get rid of junk.
Step 4 Weigh left side. Record weight. Weigh right side. Record weight.
Step 5 Calculate Midgrade price. Calculate High Telecom price.
Step 6 Compare Low Telecom price to Midgrade and High Telecom prices added together.
Step 7 The higher price wins.
But that Artesyn module could be a curve ball. Keeping the grade out of High Telecom reach.
If you got a lot of those boards. It may very well pay.
But. I think a calculation is in order here.

These look really similar to some that I have out back, which I've been meaning to input to FRED & just haven't gotten to it yet.

Ok, brb, going to run & see if I can locate them so I can post a pic!!

Ok, I'm back. That didn't take as long as I thought it would LMAO! These are what I have. Unsure, but I might be looking at the same ordeal as you?
I'd be interested to know what you finally end up sending them in as & if they change it on you or not.

I removed the metal cover plate and the face plate for the last picture, had to come off anyways!!

Regarding the red switch box, before I go trying to open it, the one on the side edge of this board I got, that is the ones you're talking about, right? After just looking really fast as I was walking, I didn't see a seam on the side to make me think it'd separate. I'll have to look some more at it because I'm sure that it does.

-> Will opening/removing this red switch box to check for gold balls have an effect on what category the board will be? Or is there enough on here that it won't really matter??

Thanks!

1985.s.christner. I submitted your board to F.R.E.D. It came back as High Peripheral.
I agree with that.
Removing the DIP switch. Looking for gold balls, contacts. I highly doubt it will affect grade. But. I don't see any real advantage to doing it. Unless. You are refining.
