So, using Google imaging on this board here, I got 2 different answers for what category to place it into...
first, it came up with Metal Socket No I-Series MB and then second time it came up with Large Socket MB...
As you know, there is like a $4/pound difference on these 2 options, so I figured i'd ask before doing!

Metal Socket. No I series.
Look at the latch for the metal socket. Metal sockets have 2 types. Fish hook and cane.
Do. An extensive review of the videos on motherboards.
Definately not large socket.
I use google also. It is an aid. Only an aid. To finding out what a board is. I have uploaded the same board up to 5 times to see results. Yep. Different results. But. It does help. The process of elimination helps. As in your case. That is definately not a large socket MB. Plus. You need knowledge of the Boardsort videos. That will give the knowledge to decide.

Do you have the other board(s) that was(were) with it? If yes, might be a similar situation.

If no, this seems customized enough that it may be more than "metal socket no I-series". Lots of ICs and bgas (even though they're not gold tab). That lga socket is not one I've seen, no hole in the middle.

Well, so I just went and watched the two videos related to Metal Socket no I-Series & also Large Socket Motherboard. From what I am hearing in those clips, this MB wouldn't fit into either category due to the Metal Socket no I-Series stressing the fact of the cane shaped lever yet also talks about the perfectly square hole in the center of the socket. Then, in the Large Socket clip, it focuses on the square in the center being large enough that a quarter would fit within without touching the edges.
Being that my board has no opening in the center of the socket, it doesn't seem to satisfy all of the requirements of either one, though I do agree with the argument for the lever shape, but that is only one part of the requirement from my understanding.

I don't know, I suppose I'll send this one off to Chris & then I'll update with his response on it once I get it. I know the videos are not going to be 100% inclusive to every type of board there has ever been made before, but both seem to be pretty focused on that certain key factor that mine has neither of.

The electronic industry moves so fast. Changing circuit designs etc. The bottom line to any e-scrap component or board and so on. Is. What is the inherit value of recoverable precious metal in it? One thing for sure is this. As we progress. Less and less precious metals are used. That complicates things. Yes. We become conflicted. I consider myself new to this. Thankful we have this forum to hear members with years of e-scrap experience.

The candy cane lever is why it might be metal socket no I-series.

Large socket is not an option at all due to the metal socket and the land grid array. Large sockets use pin grid array and are plastic.

Was there no other boards attached to this?
