I've removed a lot of the metal and bulky parts plus the RCA jacks, do these qualify as high-grade peripheral, or am I wasting my time trimming these down?

Thanks
Larry

The RCA jacks contain gold which is what will make it at least low grade. I usually leave them on. I'm afraid you removing them might have down graded it to low or mid grade completely out of the peripheral category. Hopefully someone more experienced will chime in.

As Keller I think you down graded your boards, some of the removed connectors looked to be ones with gold in them.

I would say they are all low peripheral at best aside form 1 and that could be mid grade, I think you shot your self in the foot here by removing weight and some of the things you removed looked like they could have had gold pins like the VGA end on board 5

Circuit boards are quite complex, I sent in a box a few months ago and I thought they would be peripheral high grade because they were all main and tcon boards from LCD TV's but most were downgraded to peripheral low grade, Chris said they had RCA and cable TV jacks on them dropping the grade, but you're telling me I downgraded them by removing those parts. It costs a couple bucks a pound to ship them now so decided to remove the BGA, flat packs, gold tab ect IC's and recycle the rest of the board.

Without seeing the previous boards we obviously can't say one way or another and we don't get final say anyway. We're just other customers of Boardsort that do our best to help each other out. If the boards before were very similar to what's here and Chris said to treat them a certain way, defer to Chris.

I can't say that all RCA jacks will or won't have gold, so removing them may depend on the particular manufacturer on whether there was any gold in them. Then, depending on how much weight the jacks add to the board vs how much precious metal weight is there (ICs, gold pins, tantalum, etc...etc..) may make it so some boards will be high peripheral regardless of the jacks and some boards may be low peripheral in spite of removal.

Here 4 is definitely low peripheral

The rest should make high peripheral but they appear to be lower quality so it's possible some drop. You've also cut some boards and removed a bunch so depending on who's checking the material that could ding you (I don't expect it to, just that it might) on the grade.

Computer mother boards are quite easy to figure out but these pesky peripheral boards are difficult to tell how they will be graded, unfortunately the difference in price between low and high is almost the difference of making a few bucks to having shipping cost eat most the profit, between lower gold prices and shipping rate increases because of higher fuel cost the profit margin has shrunk, I think gold prices will go up again later this year. From what I know, TV main boards don't have gold in the RCA jacks like found in audio and some computer boards. I've watched most of shark scrapper vids on youtube and try to follow what he suggested to get the best rates.
