then when Mario Brothers came out in the early 80's, that was the beginning of our downfall as a species.
I have a rather interesting insight on this, I'm from the USA, a younger Xennials aka older millennial who does not fit in with other millennials and has more in common with genX, I grew up when Mario was still fairly new, when I teen the internet was the new thing on the block and so on. My wife is the same age but not form the USA. In her country they have a far higher usage of cell phones, social media and playing video games, so much so that most work places will use instagram or face book to communicate and not teams or slack or even emails or phone numbers. Even in the remote rural mostly undeveloped village most of her family lives in you can see posters advertising games, mostly call of duty. Her nation is often referred to the social media and cell phone usage capital of the world and yet despite this all the problems that social media, games and cell phones have caused in the USA are a thing there. Kids still play outside and wonder around, people are not fighting online or glued to their phones 24/7, there is no polarization of society, drug use is very low, addiction to phones and games are very low, mental health issues are extremely rare, there is no loneliness epidemic and so on. For me I see the problem is less games, less to do with phone usage, social media and more to do with long and deep routed problematic cultural issues in the USA. Guess I'm rambling again too.
I remember staying up 1/2 the night playing Mario Brothers and get up and go Hod tend for a block layer. My ass would be dragging by quitting time. lol
Believe it or not, I'm one of the few people who don't own a cell phone in today's world.
Where I live, there is no cell phone service. I don't really need one. I can do all that I need to do online and when I do, I walk to the neighbors and use their phone. Yea, the US is pretty screwed up all the way around these days. There's an "all about me" virus that's affecting our culture.
That's why I live where I do. Plenty of peace and quiet and nobody bothers me.
My ancestors were some of the first settlers that crossed the Ohio River from Kentucky through the Cumberland Gap and settled in this area. I have Scots "Ulster" Irish ancestry on both sides from my parents.
Yea I carry the "accent".
Anyways, I'm still pulling CPU's out. I am finding some of the higher Gold CPU's in these computers I got left.
I wished I knew more about computers. I really didn't know what I had.
They did say they were gonna double their money. Evidently there was something there they wanted.
I don't care; I was glad to get rid of them. I'm like you, I'm babbling again. lol
