These look like they're all from cell phones. Unless you know they're from something else I would think cell phone grade.

Thanks. I was only thinking modern phones. Definately didn't think it through.
Also thought they could be anything rather than a cell phone. So. I suggested High Peripheral. Figuring that would cover everything shown. After all. Greenbilly didn't even suggest they were cell phones. You would think he would know.
Alls well that ends well on this blunder.
Here to learn like everybody else.

Modern smart phones are actually not worth while for part scrapping. There’s only one “cell phone” board in modern phones: if even that. The most recent phones are entirely peripheral boards and under.

Old phones used one main board and had everything on that board. They used far more materials and much larger fabrication and production processes.
Brick, stick, and candy bar phones always have a big nice board in there. Gold plated or solid gold connectors and sockets. (Always cut the connector off the antenna wire from Nokia and Motorola bricks, their true gold alloys, take them to a pawn shoppe or jeweller.)

Phones from blackberry and first gen PDAs, Motorola flip phones, usually 2 cell class boards.

A modern Oppo or Box, GoFast? High peripheral, low peripheral, and midgrade.

If you’re not fixing them, don’t take apart a smart phone for scrap. You’re loosing money.
(Texas, don’t… your an exception like me)
:)

Unless you have a reliable scrap gold buyer, don’t take apart flip phones or candy bar phones. There’s exceptions but generally you break even as parts or lose money.

Now if you have those brick phones that used large brick nicad or LA batteries. Have at it. Scrap is better.

And by reliable gold buyer I refer to:
