We got some RAM that has the heatshield on it, but the gold fingers are trimmed off.

Does anyone know what category this would fall under?

Think the easiest thing you could do to be sure on the grade is to carefully remove the shields for trimmed RAM. If it feels/sounds like an IC is coming up with the shield, stop and apply heat to loosen the adhesive before pulling further.

Either thing on their own knock the price down quite a bit, having both feels like it probably would dip the value a bit more.
