Keeping in mind the cpu attached to the board would normally be a standard sun cpu this is a lbs interesting one. Cpu, controller, and cache with double row edge connectors.
Safely say slot processor here.

No pins? Pinless.

Thank you for such a quick response. I have some questions though and apologize for the length here. In regards to D, G, F, would they not be finger cards if nothing else? After all they do All actually have fingers on them. Not trying to be argumentative, just trying to make sure I’m understanding this correctly so I can sort this in the best way for the best pay is all. F I will say I thought a bit of a stretch for telecom grade but certainly better than a peripheral due to the fingers. D is a network switch with fingers. Thought that was rather odd personally but figure low grade telecom would be correct. Any particular reasoning for why it wouldn’t be? G is out of one of those flat dell servers. To me this was a finger card and possibly a high grade telco. Peripheral, would be way too low of a grade. Any reasoning for this I’m not aware of? J, K, M, and L were pulled from what I am understanding to be a mainframe. L was for sure. There were several of them in a case where they were all plugged in like cards with each individual “Motherboard” attaches via the three white pin connectors that plugged to a big pin board type back panel. The others may have been pulled from a predictive dialer system though. Which is what A, B, and C where all pulled from. I guess I’m asking for clarity as to what is and isn’t a “finger board” and what isn’t. I figured any form video card, PCI, PCI-E, PCI-X, board would qualify by default. Whether it’s a sound card, modem, SCSI controller, whatever. It’s when you get to telco grade Fingerboards that things get fuzzy. Also, the TI cpu I showed the picture of his pins, and is what actually plugs into board A shown. Came from a Davox unison predictive dialer. I read somewhere in the forums hear that TI cpus where considered to fall into the same class as the Cyrix chips. They have done with gold caps and ones like these without. The post I found mentioned TI cpus however nothing referring to gold caps being required. I emailed Chris these same photos and am just waiting for a response. I just would rather have them sorted and for sure know what I should expect to be getting from them. I’ve found that no matter where you go to do this that everyone has their own system of grading and everyone has their own niche. I’ve gone through the forums for quite some time and I’m still confused here and there on things. I have a pretty good idea but don’t really want May surprises either by having them graded like 2-3 dollars less than what I thought. Hard to justify shipping them in and going through all this if that’s the case. Thank you for your response.

D is far too large for a finger card consideration.
F the fingers of the edge connectors keep it in peripheral instead of possibly falling to midgrade. finger cards are general sorted from generalised risers.
G I missed the fingers in my scrolling. And yes would qualify for finger card.

F simply has nothing too it. This is a case where I’ll allow for the connector being more valuable than a standard pin connector. Finger connectors, more accurately an edge connector or wedge connector etc, tend to be more valuable than the pin socket. If this were the other way around and had the socket the edge connector plugs into I’d firmly place it in midgrade.

The ceramic IC posted (TI) did a very good job of hiding its pins. Which has me assume a ceramic LGA chip. If it has pins it will go as a pentium/Mac ceramic.
If it has pins and a gold spreader (cap underneath) yes, they fall into IBM/VIA.

Chris is ultimately the one that decides, and the employees at the receiving dock. I tend to grade conservatively. My goal it to keep you (everyone) as close to the correct grade as possible, but never inflating anything. If something is borderline; I go with the lower grade nine times in ten.
I try to make sure you don’t spend on shipping something and getting lower than you expected. I never assume upwards. The digital signal processor is a perfect example of my grading parameters. No see — no assume.

In reality I’m accurate most of the time but definitely not perfect. As you point out everyone has their own method. The only time I can be absolutely positive is something I’ve sent in myself. Even then changes over the years make nothing set in stone.
I do my best. I’ve had people get upgrades. But nobody has told me so far (luckily) they’ve been downgraded.
