What is the best thing to do with the DVD rom and cd roms that come from the computer

Depends on how much time you wish to spend.
I pop the controller board off (cd/dvd) remove the laser assembly (dlp chip) toss the rest of the laser in cbm#1/#2 depending on style (occasionally Al#3). The rest of internals in stainless 400 and the shell in lt iron.


You can go further... the actual laser diod is gold shelled if you can get it out of the mounting, and a few pins in there but I'm not willing to spend that much time for less than $2 in gold. Etv.
