I am looking for blue PCBs for an art project. Does anyone know where I can purchase some? I'm having a lot of trouble sourcing them. Thanks

Interesting. Is there a deadline for project completion? Do you mind sharing more info about it and maybe a general location? Depending where you are someone here might be able to help you out.

If you have a scrap yard anywhere near you try and go by and tell them what you're doing and what you need. Be polite and maybe bring some empty soda cans in to give them some business. Or if there's any electronics manufacturing companies near you, see if they have any product that failed. Keep in mind they may prefer not to share if there's any proprietary stuff.

I assume you are referring to Printed Circuit boards rather than Poly Chlorinated Bisphenols. Just curious if you want only unpopulated boards, or anything that is blue. Also, how many?

Fastest is ebay.

Least expensive is finding a board fab and buying their failures by pallet.

High risk is buying Asian low end tablets in bulk. The vast majority of sub-$30 tablets and “children’s” tablets are nearly identical rebranded. With blue boards. But you roll the dice on getting black and red boards as well.

Or look under a PCB supply company for breadboard.

Hello, thank you for the responses and I apologize for the delay.

I have been looking off and on for several years now so there is no timeline for this.
I am hoping to get around 30sqft of blue boards, so not a lot, but I'd take up to 100 or more if that is the only way I can get them.

Yeah, location would be helpful wouldn't it! I am located near Toronto in Ontario, Canada. Ideally I'm looking for a Canadian source but I'll take it from anywhere in the world at this point.

I've searched extensively on eBay and I have yet to find anyplace to get exclusively blue boards. Almost everything I've seen is new or populated, and/or wildly overpriced. The cost of shipping heavy, populated boards is a big limiting factor here.

Are failed printed circuit boards a thing that is available from manufacturers? I've sent enquiries to several companies, both manufacturers and e-waste companies, asking about scrap boards and I have yet to receive a response from any of them.

Drsung, where are you located? I wanted to DM you but it seems as if that's not possible in this forum, which appears as if it hasn't been updated since the 90s or early 2000s.

If you're willing and able to drive to Boardsort, they're in Alliance, Ohio, then give them a call and see if Chris would be willing to pull some boards for you. Again, tell him what you're working on and what you need and maybe he can help you out.

The only thing I'm unsure about in this is crossing the border (presumably) and what regulations there would be, if any, for bringing scrap material across.

unfortunately am in Louisiana so shipping would probably be cost prohibitive
