There are some touch/drawing units that use DLP but there you are still faced with the layered glass with heavy metals in it. A touch screen is still a touch screen even if it’s not LCD technology. There’s still the input matrix and etc etc.
Just make sure you have something in place before you wind up with actually having to deal with it.
I won’t say it doesn’t exist now but it’s been a LONG LONG time since I’ve seen a solely passive tracking system (such a a light pen or magnetic resistance wand) on anything other than than Onyx manufactured ebook readers and kids edutainment tablets.
