RJ ends are usually two or four pieces, snapped together and heated slightly.
They can be crushed easily and take just a few careful seconds.

I apparently grabbed one of the rare injection moulded ones.
If not for want of photos those tough ones always go straight into my gold pin connectors bin without second thought. Where I always break the snap tight ones.

The last one is a standard ribbon connector and is actually probably the easiest; in most cases.
The majority have tiny clips on the ends of the width. Just pop it off with a small screwdriver and then remove the metal bracket that holds the cable in place. The pins normally pull out quite easily.
Some sturdier versions have a moulded connector so just use sharp wire snips to take the ends off... as close to, or even at, the outside pins.

A good sturdy tug removes the pins .
Really cheap ones may crack at the mount but that’s not all that common. I’ve come across more than a few that just fell out. That’s actually the sign of a good connector as they can expand and move to handle all the junk pin ports on generic drives without doing damage.pins that fall out on their own when the connector is opened also tend to have far thicker plating than the ones that are nearly moulded in and break on you. The former running well above $15 per pound from Chris, the latter at under $5.
