I have a stack of old iPhone. I took a few apart for the boards but its a lot of tedious work. Normally I would keep the aluminum frames and use them for casting but given the number of phones I have I want to send them in as is.

I spoke with Chris about this about a year ago and if I recall he said I can just send them in as is, I think, I could be recalling wrong. I feel like the right thing to do is to remove the battery because you know safety, but I'd be shooting myself in the foot money wise. What do you guys do with iPhones and other phones that have batteries sealed up inside them? I used to repair phones all day long so cracking open older iPhones and pulling the battery is a simple task for me and I could take 10+ battery out of iPhones in under an hr so time is not a problem.

No market for older phones without having to deal with troves of scammers and having them sit for a long time. I rather just scrap them. I don't think many people would be paying for iPhone 5 to 8's anyway.
So they go as Any Cell Phone With Battery? if I recall Chris said Modern Smart Phone No Batt No Cover but that was some time ago.

I have an iPhone 7 or 8 still...

Granted it's spamming steps for a game I play...

I still use a iPhone 5se too, Hate the newer big phones. but I'm a odd ball. for me selling is just not worth it, to many people complain, do return fraud and so on.

Chris said they prefer to have the batteries removed

For sealed phones they have the any with battery class
If the battery is consumer removable remove the battery first for cellphones without battery

that has me wondering, what about a sealed phone without battery ? removing the battery form a iphone takes me a few seconds, its literary two screws and some tape you pool out.

By that point, you are better off sending in the individual boards if you’ve gone so far as to remove everything to the battery point

Most modern cell phones have a cell phone board and multiple high peripheral boards.
