Im new to this and have a chance to get ahold of 4 big boxes of old desk top phones for free. I mean thousands of phones. My question is with the boards inside are they worth taking apart. looks like some nice boards inside.

High peripheral minimum on the lcd board
Midgrade
Midgrade (possible low peripheral if that board isn't as low quality as it looks)

The keypad board in the middle probably will just squeeze into low peripheral.

As for value, depends on how fast you can strip them. Figure out what you get in value per phone and divide that out by an hour for your wage.

I like grabbing the old office landline phones, the black ones with the 15~ speed dials on the side of it! i find they are quick enough to take apart for myself I suppose. Big downfall is all of the left over plastic that piles up super quick. They'll have a speaker in each one with the magnet, sometimes nice, and usually all of them will come with a phone cord, of course the ends are connector ends and then the wire i sell locally as #2 insulated 48% i believe is the right name they give it here. another good thing is the boards in the phones are usually all nice and flat so they stack fairly easily, to me that is a big plus too..

I’m out of practice but I used to be a low to strip those line-switch office phones in well under a minute.
And I have a buyer for some plastics so it was always worth the effort.

The older the phone, the better the boards.
Always split the handset though. I’ve gotten everything you can think of for weights. Steel, zinc, aluminium, even got copper out of a few. Woohoo.
