Anyone here sent whole laptops through freight shipping? As I understand it boardsort requires battery to be in them to be complete and a box with complete laptops on a pallet load would require hazmat on the BOL. Like to get an idea of what kind of extra work and charges that will require or if i should just keep stripping them?.

Just got confirmation from Chris that the battery must be in them to be considered whole. If removed they are considered partial or incomplete

Lostinlodos any experience shipping them frieght with the batteries in? Don't get enough for a pallet and I don't really want to have to do hazmat for just a box or two on a pallet.

I know this is late to the party, but I had the same question and wanted to settle it here for others who will also have the same question.

You must declare HAZMAT if batteries are present. USPS a $50 fee for nondisclosure and a fine up to $100,000 if injury occurs and you did not disclose contents correctly (just declare what you are shipping). USPS will not charge for declaring HAZMAT as long as the shipment meets their requirements which is listed on their site. I am not going to list because almost all laptops fit in their specs. However there is a distinction between shipping whole items containing batteries, batteries along side (not installed) their item and batteries only. As I understand it, UPS and FedEx hold a similar policy.
